US, British forces conduct fresh airstrikes against capital Sana’a, several regions in Yemen

The United States and Britain have carried out a fresh round of strikes in the Yemeni capital Sana’a and other regions in the country, as Yemeni forces launch retaliatory attacks in the Red Sea in solidarity with Palestinians amid the Israeli onslaught against Gaza.

Lebanon’s Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television news network, citing local sources speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that US and British military aircraft hit at least 35 targets across Yemen late on Saturday.

The sources added that the joint strikes mainly targeted Faj Attan, al-Nahdin and al-Hafa neighborhoods in Sana’a. Witnesses reported major explosions in the city.

More than 11 air raids were conducted against areas in the Maqbanah and Hayfan districts of Yemen’s southwestern province of Ta’izz. There were no immediate reports about possible casualties and the extent of damage caused.

US and British forces also conducted three strikes on al-Lahiya and As Salif districts in the strategic western province of Hudaydah, with no quick reports about victims and damage available.

Additionally, seven raids were reported in the al-Jar area in the Abs district of the northwestern province of Hajjah.

Al-Mayadeen TV went on to report that US and British warplanes also launched several airstrikes against a number of sites in Yemen’s western province of Dhamar, and the central province of al-Bayda as well.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.
