FM: Iran’s involvement in multinational drills highlights the Navy’s capabilities in global maritime operation
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi highlighted the formidable presence and competence of the Iranian Navy during its engagement in the 7th Maritime Security Belt 2025 multinational naval exercises. The minister underscored that the Navy’s performance underscored its operational strength and ability to navigate and operate effectively in international waters.
On Tuesday, the nation’s senior diplomat extended congratulations to Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, the commander of the Navy, following the successful completion of recent maritime exercises. The diplomat emphasized that this achievement serves as a testament to the Navy’s formidable strength and standing on the global maritime stage.
Araghchi emphasized that the military exercises, which commenced earlier today, serve as a clear demonstration of the Navy’s resolute stance and its capability to perform on an international level.
He emphasized the necessity of maintaining a strong and proactive presence in vast oceanic regions to ensure maritime security and foster development.
In a recent statement, the official reaffirmed Iran’s steadfast commitment to upholding and bolstering security measures across the strategically vital Persian Gulf, including the critical Strait of Hormuz and extending to the Sea of Oman and adjacent areas.
He emphasized that the ongoing exercises demonstrate the Islamic Republic’s determination, showcasing the nation’s steadfast commitment to this issue to international observers.
Naval exercises are currently underway in the northern Indian Ocean, featuring a collaboration between the Iranian Navy, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and naval contingents from Russia and China.
Naval contingents from Azerbaijan, South Africa, Oman, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Qatar, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Sri Lanka are participating as observers in the ongoing exercises.
In his final remarks, Araghchi lauded the bravery of the Iranian Navy sailors, as well as the dedication of commanders and other members of the nation’s Armed Forces.
He recognized that Iran’s sovereignty and independence across its land, air, and maritime domains are attributable to the sacrifices and dedication of its servicemen, extending wishes for their continued success in their endeavors.
