‘Forests, greenery should be protected’: Leader

Ayatollah Khamenei’s official website reported that the Leader also addressed the reporters present in the ceremony briefly, emphasizing upon the protection of natural resources such as forests and rare plant species.

“Plants serve the humanity and brings plenty to our lives; all the public and government officials should cooperate in protection of forests and ranges as their inherent duty,” said the Leader.

“Unregulated use of natural resources and the forest violates the principles of public good and country’s expediencies, and potentially would threaten valuable plant species in the long run,” the Leader told reporters.
National Arbor Day or National Tree Planting Day is commemorated in March 5 annually to encourage public to participate in making their environment more sustainable.
