Iran has condemned the killing of three commanders of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, by Israel.
In a statement issued on Friday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry offered its condolences to the oppressed people of Palestine, particularly the people of the Gaza Strip, over the killing of Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum, commanders of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
“Such terrorist measures will further strengthen the determination of the resistant and self-sacrificing Palestinian people” in their resistance against the Israeli regime until their final victory, the Iranian Foreign Ministry statement said.
The three commanders of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Tel al-Sultan refugee camp in the southern city of Rafah in Gaza.
On Thursday, thousands of Palestinian people from different walks of life, including the representatives and members of a wide variety of Palestinian political factions, took part in the funeral procession of the Hamas commanders.
Hamas has said that the killing of the three commanders will demoralize neither the Palestinians nor the resistance movement, warning that the Tel Aviv regime will pay the price for killing them.
Israel has claimed that the three commanders played an important role in expanding military capabilities of Hamas in recent years.
The death toll from the Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip has risen to 2,090, after renewed Israeli airstrikes killed at least 37 people since Thursday morning.
Some 10,300 others have been wounded since the Israeli aggression began on July 8.
