Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman has condemned the interventionist statement by French Foreign Minister and Defense Minister about Iran’s nuclear activities and expansion of sanctions against Iran.
Ramin Mehmanparast said that hypocrites who seemingly claimed freedom of speech was nothing new and Iranian people understood these desperate activities, and rejected them by displaying a magnificent march on the 34th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on the February 10, 2013.

He added that “our advice to some of the French officials is that, instead of interfering with the internal affairs of other countries, they better work to correct the deplorable human rights situation, including acts of violence and torture against its own citizens, racial discrimination against refugees, and their killing in detention centers, which has been protested by international organizations.”

Mehmanparast pointed to baseless comments by FrenchDefense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, about Iran nuclear activities and expansion of sanctions against Iran, and said that “false perception of some Western countries that Iran will buckle to these pressures, and will abandon its fundamental rights is ludicrous, and it is better that the French government, instead of irrational behavior and comments, adopt a correct approach based on realities.”

He pointed to the transparent and peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities, also Iran’s close and continuous cooperation with IAEA and said “the roots of insecurity and instability in the region are the Zionist regime and their Western supporters who are sending weapons and sowing discord and also active participants of escalating conflicts and bloodshed among Muslim countries in the region.”
