G15 to discuss economic crisis

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says the upcoming G15 summit will focus on a range of issues, including the global financial crisis which is stemmed from the US.

The 14th summit of the Group of 15 developing countries will officially kick off on Monday. The gathering will bring together senior representatives and policymakers from up to 18 Asian, African and Latin American states.

“This summit is being held at a very crucial time when member states are facing issues like the global financial crisis that none of these countries did not have anything to do with, but have all suffered from,” Ramin Mehmanparast told Press TV.

“We are going to discuss noble ideas to find solutions to this crisis. We think it’s the injustice, discrimination and a monopoly created by some countries that have triggered the financial crisis,” he added.

The spokesman said energy, security and environmental issues would also be on the agenda of talks.

“We want the G15 member states to do their best to secure international access to clean and alternative energies,” he explained.

He said greater economic cooperation between member states would also be discussed.
