As of midday on March 17, the Ministry reported that the death toll had reached 48,577, a grim milestone in the 15-month-long conflict that has been characterized by widespread violence and allegations of genocide. The offensive is set to resume, raising concerns of further casualties.
According to an announcement on Wednesday, the ministry reported that by noon the number had increased to 49,547.
The Ministry of Health has reported the occurrence of one fatality and five cases of severe injury involving foreign personnel employed by United Nations institutions.

He stated emphatically, “This was no accident,” and emphasized that “strikes on humanitarian facilities constitute a violation of international law.”
Later in the day, Bulgaria’s foreign ministry announced that a Bulgarian national employed by the United Nations had been killed in Gaza. The ministry did not provide details regarding the specific location within the territory where the incident occurred.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stark warning on Tuesday, stating that the recent violence in Gaza, which has resulted in significant civilian casualties, was “only the beginning.” Netanyahu currently faces allegations of war crimes and ethnic cleansing in the region.
