Global oil prices soar over EU sanctions on Iran

Global oil prices have soared after the European Union (EU) imposed a new round of sanctions against Iran, with Brent North Sea crude exceeding $116 a barrel.

On Monday, EU foreign ministers agreed on a new round of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear energy program in spite of a UN warning against the humanitarian ramifications of the previous bans.
