Global oppression will be uprooted

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the Iranian nation will stand firm until repression is eradicated throughout the world.

“The Iranian nation will stand fast until oppression is rooted out and the flag of justice is raised in the world, keeping the enemy wishing forever that Iran take even one step back,” the president was quoted by IRNA as saying Sunday.

The Iranian chief executive said the enemy believed it could halt Iranians’ progress and keep them from pursuing their ideals by imposing a war on them, but to no avail.

“They (the enemy) committed numerous crimes and even violated the rules and restrictions that they themselves had set,” President Ahmadinejad further said in an address to the families of martyrs and war veterans in northern Gilan Province.

The Iranian president further underlined that the enemy has been struggling for 32 years to deflect the Iranian nation from its path.

Nevertheless, he added, the Iranian people are strong as ever, and will frustrate the enemy.

Earlier in the day, President Ahmadinejad told provincial residents that the United States was not interested in resolving issues with Iran.

Referring to the recent talks between Iran and the P5+1 — comprising Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany — in the Turkish city of Istanbul, the president urged the six major powers to stop following the path of Zionists.

The Iranian chief executive further underscored that negotiations should be based on justice and respect.
