Grand Ayatollah Akhtari: Wahhabism is a disaster plaguing Muslim world

A senior Iranian cleric attending international conference on jurisprudence warned against Wahhabi groups as a disaster for Muslim world.
Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Secretary General of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly, said Whhabi criminals with their illiterate Muftis are dangerous plague for Muslim nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” Takfiri (excommunicating) groups supported by Wahhabism and the US commit different forms of crime in Iraq, Pakistan, Syria and Egypt.”

Iranian cleric slammed Takfiri groups for counterfeiting the truth of Islam and demanded Muslim scholars to inform Muslim communities against the deviant groups and prevent their efforts to misrepresent Islam.

Secretary General of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly criticized Excommunicators for distorting Hadiths, holy books and the truth behind Islam and their ignoring the religion.

“Takfiri groups feed the people with their particular interpretation of religion and justify their inhuman crimes under the title of religion.” said Ayatollah Akhtari.

Iranian senior cleric highlighted the role of Muslim clerics for unveiling the true identity of Takfiri groups and said one of the missions of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly is to confront the accusations of deviant groups like Takfiris.

Two-day conference on jurisprudence is underway in the Iranian Southern city of Ahvaz.
