Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Threats Against Supreme Leader, Marja Declared as Acts of “Enemy of God”

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi has issued a religious decree, known as a fatwa, declaring that any individual posing a threat to the Leadership or Shia Marja is considered an Enemy of God. As per Islamic doctrine, such individuals must be actively opposed.

Following statements perceived as threats from Trump and leaders of the Israeli government towards Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and senior Shiite clerics, a community of followers sought guidance from Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi on how Muslims should respond. The prominent cleric addressed their concerns by outlining the responsibilities and actions to be taken in light of the situation.

In a recent Fatwa, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi declared that any individual or regime that poses a threat to the Leader, or the Marja, is deemed an adversary of God. The statement was made in response to a query directed at the Ayatollah.

A prominent Iranian Shia religious authority has declared that any form of cooperation or assistance to the adversary by Muslims or Islamic nations is considered haram, or forbidden. The cleric emphasized the importance for Muslims globally to hold these adversaries accountable for their statements and actions.

He stated that any Muslim adhering to their religious duties, if they face hardship or loss in their endeavors, will be regarded as a warrior in the path of God, God willing.

May divine protection be bestowed upon the Islamic community against malevolent actions, while fostering the swift reemergence of the Imam Zaman.
