Cancer team hosts breakfast in bed record in China

Members of a cancer support group in China have set a Guinness World Record for organizing the largest gathering of people eating breakfast in bed.
The More than Aware breast cancer support group organized the event with 388 participants at the Pudong Shangri-la Hotel in the Chinese city of Shanghai.
The participants, including the support group’s members and allies, as well as a number of cancer patients, ate breakfast in 202 beds.
The menu included noodles, croissants and fruit. In order to be qualified, each person had to be fed “two breakfast food items plus a beverage.”
The event was put together to raise awareness on breast cancer and its prevention.
In 2012, Priceline and the Association of Women’s Health (Australia) set the previous record when they hosted 289 people eating breakfast in 85 queen-sized beds at Sydney’s Martin Place.
The Guinness World Records staff works with nonprofit organizations to help raise awareness on different issues through world-record activities.
