Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili condemned the Israeli aggression on Jamraya research center in Damascus Countryside.

Receiving Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun on Thursday, Jalili said that Syria is on the Islamic world’s front line of confrontation against the Zionist entity and that the Islamic Nation will not allow any aggression on it.

He added that the Israeli entity will regret its aggression on Syria as it did in its aggression on Lebanon and its war on Gaza.

Jalili underlined the important role of the clergymen and religious scholars in raising the peoples’ awareness of the enemy’s conspiracies, reiterating Iran’s firm support to Syria and the resistance.

He added that the enemy’s pressure on the resistance front aims at confronting the crystallization and the continuous enhancement of the modern Islamic civilization.

In turn, Syria’s Grand Mufti said that the Israeli aggression revealed the involvement of Israel in the events in Syria.

Hassoun hailed Iran’s constructive role in the Islamic world, stressing the need for Muslims to be aware of the schemes which aim at fragmenting them.

The meeting was attended by Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Adnan Mahmoud.

In a relevant context, Hassoun discussed with the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi the Syrian-Iranian relations and the latest developments in the Syrian arena.

The two sides stressed the importance of unifying efforts and activating the role of Islamic and religious institutions in enlightenment in the Islamic world.

Hassoun hailed Iran’s stances in support of Syria’s people and government and the political program to solve the crisis in Syria launched by President Bashar al-Assad.
