Big powers’ defeat from Iran result of their ignorance

Big powers' defeat from Iran result of their ignorance
The arrogant powers’ defeat from IR Iran is the result of their ignorance of the realities of the Iranian nation, Friday Prayers Leader Sayyed Ahmad Khatami said on Thursday.

He made the remarks in a ceremony held to celebrate the 31st annual ceremony of Amol people’s resistance towards communist rebellions.

In January 1982, Amol which is a city in Mazandaran province was the scene of a failed armed insurgency against the Islamic Republic government by the armed wing of the Union of Iranian Communists.

Tehran’s Friday prayers leader noted that more than three decades of Enemies’ conspiracies, including the US, the Zionist regime, the UK and their internal elements’ failed efforts to topple or pressure Islamic Republic are because of their weak understanding of the Iranian nation and the nation’s support of the governing system.

“West aims to provoke unrests in Iran through imposing economic embargos and pressures, but it should know that this approach is doomed to failure; West is wasting time by postponing nuclear negotiations; nations will not surrender to enemies and will endure the sanctions and pressures,” he added.

Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) which entitle every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under four rounds of UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions and the western embargos for turning down the West’s calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment.

Tehran has dismissed West’s demands as politically-tainted and illogical, stressing that sanctions and pressures merely consolidate Iranians’ national resolve to continue the path.

Tehran has repeatedly said that it considers its nuclear case closed as it has come clean of IAEA’s questions and suspicions about its past nuclear activities.

Iranian officials have on repeated occasions reiterated that the US-led western sanctions on the country have influenced Iran’s economy positively.

Earlier this month, Vice-Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard underlined the positive outcome of sanctions and pressures on the Iranian economy and oil sector, saying that pressures and embargos pave the way for Iran to end its dependence on oil revenues.

‘Our enemies helped us today and we managed to cut Iran’s dependence on oil revenues in a short period of time which is a great development in the country’s economy,’ Aboutorabi-Fard said, addressing a meeting in the holy city of Mashhad.
