Hama: Syrian Army Captures Key Town after Three Years of Terrorists’ Occupation

The army units stormed ISIL’s positions in the town of Jana al-Albawi from several directions and took it back after three years.

Meantime, the army men drove ISIL out of the strategic al-Mahasah hill and later advanced towards the Northern entrance of the town of Aqayrabat, the ISIL’s main stronghold in Eastern Hama.

ISIL suffered heavy casualties and its military hardware sustained major damage in the attacks.

In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force bombed ISIL’s gathering in the town of Salba in Eastern Hama, killing a large number of terrorists and destroying several military vehicles.

In relevant developments in the province on Tuesday, the army soldiers, supported by the country’s Air Force and artillery units, drove ISIL out of the strategic hill of al-Mohasa near the village of Jana al-Basei North of the town of Aqayrabat after hours of non-stop tough battle with the terrorists.

The ISIL left behind a number of dead and wounded members and pulled the remaining pockets of its fighters towards the village of Jana al-Bawi and the town of Aqayrabat.

The army’s engineering units started clean up operation in the newly-freed region, defusing tens of bombs and landmines and discovering several tunnels and positions with a large volume of arms and ammunition.

In the meantime, a military source said that gaining control over al-Mohasa hill is a giant stride towards liberating Jana al-Bawi and then moving towards Aqayrabat, the main stronghold of the ISIL in Eastern Hama.
