Hamas: Abbas remarks betrayal to our martyrs’ blood

images_News_2014_07_12_abbas_300_0Hamas Movement has strongly condemned PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s statements in which he described Palestinian resistance as ‘warmongers’.

Spokesman for the movement Sami Abu Zuhri said in a press release issued on Friday night that Abbas’s remarks are a betrayal to Palestinian martyrs’ blood and only serve hostile positions to the Palestinian people and its resistance.

Hamas will succeed in imposing its conditions on Israel regardless of such shameless positions, he added.

Abbas had earlier said that Hamas’s conditions for a ceasefire with Israel are unnecessary and unrequired.

In televised statements, Abbas stressed the need to achieve a ceasefire immediately without preconditions, saying that the only loser in this war is the Palestinian civilians.

He slammed the Israeli heavy use of fire and stressed his readiness to resume peace talks. He pointed to his ongoing efforts to join UN treaties.

“Israel keeps attacking our people, however; we have to defend ourselves according to the international law”, he added.

For his part, the leader in Fatah Movement Hossam Khader said in his Facebook page on Friday that the ongoing war on Gaza will come up with the resistance’s victory, the establishment of Palestinian state in Gaza, and an end to Abbas’s political role.

Khader, a leader and founding member in Fatah’s student wing at al-Najah University, was deported to Lebanon during the first Intifada (uprising) after being arrested in 1988. He spent more than 10 years behind Israeli bars.
