Pro-Israel Groups Discomfited by Press TV’s Disclosures of Truth, Says Chris Williamson

According to a past member of the British Parliament, pro-Israel groups are embarrassed by the truth that Press TV brings to the public, leading to the Israel lobby actively attempting to get the channel banned in the UK.

Chris Williamson, the host of Palestine Declassified on Press TV, claimed that the lobby in the UK Parliament is attempting to “conceal Israeli wrongdoing.”

He stated in an interview with Press TV on May 3rd that what they are seeing is a disgraceful effort by the Israel lobby in the Parliament to cover up Israel’s lawbreaking and criminality, and they are evidently uneasy about how Palestine Declassified is uncovering the hidden aspects of Israel’s deeds and the lobby’s attempts to prevent any commentary on the Palestinians’ repression.

Pro-Israel groups, such as the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCHD) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), are conducting a smear campaign in order to take down the accounts of Iran’s leading broadcaster Press TV from social media outlets in the United Kingdom.

“Palestine Declassified” offers a comprehensive examination of the Palestine situation.

Williamson declared that Palestine Declassified is highly effective. He also pointed out that meticulous research is conducted to create the content that the program provides.

The host noted that Palestine Declassified has been successful, garnering attention from over 11 million people, and that this success is obviously embarrassing for them. He suggested that their efforts to “close down” the program were in response to its success.

At a parliamentary session last week, Andrew Percy, the Vice Chairman of Conservatives Friends of Israel, echoed the assertions of pro-Israel organizations. Percy accused the program Palestine Declassified of stirring up animosity against British Jews.

Williamson denied the accusation, asserting that “The program does not encourage any form of hate.”

The host suggested that Percy should apologize for slandering him and for damaging the standing of Palestine Declassified and Press TV.

In July 2013, Press TV was taken off the air in the UK due to allegations made by the media regulator Ofcom. That same year, US-imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) forced the broadcaster off the air in North America as well. Despite this, Press TV continues to have a large viewership in Western countries and a substantial following on social media, which they have denounced as “media terrorism.” This is not the first time the West has targeted the channel.

to change its content

Despite years of pressure from Western states to alter its content, the channel has remained steadfast in upholding its slogan: The Voice of the Voiceless.
