Hamas condemned burning the Jordanian pilot Muadh al-Kasasbeh alive by Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and described the murder as a heinous crime.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, confirmed in a statement on Wednesday evening its condemnation of all forms of killing of and aggression against the Islamic and Arab peoples.

Hamas hoped a speedy end to the Nation’s ordeals, calling for directing its potentials against the Israeli occupation.

The ISIS announced, in a video released on Tuesday, the killing of the Jordanian pilot prisoner al-Kasasbeh by burning him alive.

The murder was met with widespread resentment and rejection of the highest Islamic authorities, especially the International Union of Muslim Scholars headed by Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

The Jordanian pilot Moadh al-Kasasbeh was born in Karak city in southern Jordan in 1988. The pilot was captured when his plane came down near Raqqa in Syria, during a mission against ISIS last December.
