End of round seven, Iran and IAEA negotiations

End of round seven, Iran and IAEA negotiations
The seventh round of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) negotiations has ended.
The news indicated that the negotiations between Iran and the IAEA have ended on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, without reaching any agreement on major draft of the modality agreement. No round of negotiation has been scheduled for today.

During an interview, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran’s envoy to the IAEA, who was heading the Iran negotiation team, pointed to intensive negotiation between Iran and IAEA.

He said that “Intense technical negotiations with 8-member team of the agency, headed by Deputy Director General of the Agency’s safeguards on the modalities and framework for resolving issues related to the allegations about Iran’s nuclear program was held on Wednesday in Tehran.”

Soltanieh added “while resolving some of the differences and agreeing on some issues, the parties agreed to review the new proposed draft on the modalities agreements and decided on the next meeting.”

However, reports indicate that there has not been any agreement reached about the time and place of the next round of negotiations, so there would be no access to Parchin military site for the IAEA team in this round.

Iran and IAEA have been in negotiation for formulation of modalities to determine the Possible Military Dimensions (PMD) of Iran nuclear program, and it should be resolved.

Iran believes that the PMD allegations are nothing more than bogus claims, made by Western intelligence services.
