
A delegation from the Hamas Movement led by its representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka met with Nohad Mashnouq on Wednesday and congratulated him on the success of the municipal elections. During the meeting, Baraka reiterated his Movement’s keenness on maintaining Lebanon’s stability, affirming that Hamas would continue to work with all other Palestinian factions on protecting the security of the refugee camps.
The Hamas official also discussed with the minister the UNRWA’s decisions to cut its humanitarian services for the Palestinian refugees, and expressed his hope that the Lebanese government could support the Palestinian demands in this regard and would work on alleviating some of the Palestinian refugees’ suffering in the country. He also briefed the Lebanese official on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena as well as Israel’s violations against the Islamic holy sites in Occupied Jerusalem and the efforts made to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation.
