Hamas denies planning a return to ruling Gaza

Hamas categorically denied news reports that it was planning to return to ruling Gaza Strip.

Spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said on his Facebook page on Friday night that what has been circulated in social networks on the internet in this regard was completely baseless.

Alleged sources in Hamas Movement were quoted in social networks as saying that Hamas was planning a return to ruling Gaza in light of the consensus government’s disregard of the Gaza Strip.

The consensus government is still refusing to pay thousands of civil servants in Gaza hired during Hamas’s rule at the pretext they were “illegally appointed”. Furthermore, it did nothing concerning lifting the siege on the Strip.
