Hamas: Israel will not be able to coerce or intimidate Palestinians through measures of starvation or siege

A senior Hamas leader has reaffirmed that the Israeli regime cannot coerce Palestinians through measures such as blockades and starvation. The official underscored that the group's arms of resistance will remain non-negotiable.

Sami Abu Zuhri has vehemently denounced the decision by the Israeli government to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and to shut down crossings utilized for relief operations. He characterized these actions as constituting a “war crime.”

The Israeli administration’s recent threats concerning a blockade and potential starvation do not intimidate us and hold no significance, according to statements from opposition sources.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly attempting to dismantle the current ceasefire agreement and initiate a fresh series of negotiations, a move that has been deemed unacceptable, according to sources.

Abu Zuhri emphasized that the release of the remaining Israeli captives hinges solely on adherence to the ceasefire agreement, asserting that no amount of pressure or external demands would facilitate their freedom.

A senior Hamas official has stated unequivocally that the group’s arsenal is non-negotiable and insists that discussions concerning disarmament will not be entertained. The official emphasized that agreeing to disarm the resistance front will not be considered as a trade-off for the reconstruction of Gaza or the facilitation of humanitarian aid into the region.

Following the expiration of the initial stage of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the captives-prisoners exchange between Hamas and Israel, Israeli authorities have suspended the entry of aid shipments. This move coincided with Israel’s resistance to advancing discussions for a subsequent phase of the agreement.

Earlier today, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the delivery of all goods and supplies to the Gaza Strip would be suspended starting Sunday morning.
