Haneyya: Palestinian people scored military, political, media victories

Ismail Haneyya, the Gaza premier, has said that the Palestinian people had scored military, political, and media victories over the Israeli occupation.

He told a ceremony honoring journalists killed in the Israeli aggression and their relatives in Gaza on Monday night that the media victory is no less important than the military and political victories.

Haneyya said that the Palestinian media defeated the “Zionist media”, stressing the Palestinian media’s ability to highlight the suffering of the Palestinian people.

For his part, Emad Al-Efranji, the chairman of the media forum, denounced the Israeli occupation’s crimes against journalists, adding that the Israeli occupation was furious at the media’s exposure of its crimes.

He called on Arab and international press associations to visit the Gaza Strip and document the Israeli crimes against journalists and file lawsuits against the Israeli leaders involved in those crimes.

Yasser Abu Hein, the chairman of the Palestinian journalists syndicate, said that a delegation representing 40 press syndicates around the world would visit Gaza soon to probe the suffering of Palestinian journalists as a first step toward bringing Israeli leaders to account.

He said that his syndicate was collecting evidence on Israeli premeditated targeting of journalists that would be delivered to the Euromed for human rights to prosecute Israeli war criminals.
