Hamas to Al-Manar: Zionist Occupation Failed to Prove It Has Upper Hand in Palestine

Osama Hamadan, the Representative of Hamas in Lebanon, conveyed in an interview with Al-Manar that the zionist occupation has fallen short in demonstrating that it has the upper hand in Palestine.

In an interview with Panorama Today on Monday, Hamdan stressed that the Israeli enemy found out that it has been facing a general and national state of resistance rather than a resistance by certain faction or group.

He added that the recent raid in Jenin was meant to demonstrate the Israeli occupation’s control in the West Bank, but it ultimately resulted in casualties among the troops and the commander of the offensive, indicating the strength of the Palestinian resistance. “The Israeli occupation, through the raid in Jenin last Thursday (January 26), wanted to say that it has the upper hand in the West Bank. However, the occupation failed to prove that as the Palestinian resistance confronted the offensive, killing or injuring the commander of the attack as well as wounding other troops,” Hamdan told Panorama Today’s Manar Sabbagh.

“Actually, the Israeli occupation has been concerned over West Bank raids as it realized that the resistance capabilities have developed and that any offensive in any area may secure some achievements, but also will inflict heavy losses upon the occupation forces.”

The Hamas official reminisced about a battle in Jenin during the First Intifada between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation in which many Palestinian martyrs fell but the Israeli occupation paid a heavy price.

In this context, Hamdan noted that the current situation in the West Bank differs, with the resistance capabilities having greatly increased. He continued to say that the resistance during January 26th raid in Jenin secured achievements against the Israeli enemy, stressing that the major achievement was the swift retaliation with Al-Quds operation, when Palestinian Khairi Alqam, 21, killed seven Israelis outside a synagogue in the occupied Palestinian capital.

While calling for a stepped-up act of resistance against the Israeli occupation, Hamdan stressed that operations as well as repelling daily raids in the West Bank “are clear message to all those believe is the so-called security coordination with the Israeli enemy as a solution.”

Hamdan dismissed announcement by the Palestinian Authority to suspend security coordination with the Israeli occupation, noting that dozens of similar moves were made before.

“The suspension of security coordination was announced before for dozen times. However, it was also renewed after a while. Actually, it is full cooperation and collaboration rather than coordination.”

To put it succinctly, Hamadan’s remarks embody the steadfast determination of the Palestinian resistance to combat the Israeli occupation and secure independence and sovereignty. The recent events in Jenin highlight the expanding competencies of the resistance and their significance in the pursuit of Palestinian rights and liberties.
