Hamas urges global Muslim community to dismiss Zionist initiatives

The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has urged the global Muslim community, including Palestinians, to stand against the initiatives and strategies implemented by the Israeli government that it perceives as aggressive.

In a statement released on Monday, the movement commemorated the anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s appointment as the final messenger of God by issuing remarks.

Hamas has described the occasion as a rallying call to oppose Zionist initiatives perceived to target the Muslim Nation and to bolster the resilience of Palestinians in the occupied city of al-Quds, which they hope to designate as the capital of their envisioned future state.

The group also took the opportunity to commend “those stationed at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in all possible ways,” acknowledging the individuals who resist Israeli restrictions on Muslim prayers at this significant religious site, regarded as the third holiest in Islam.

“Israel Unable to Erase Arab and Islamic Identity, Analysts Say”

Hamas has declared that “the fascist occupation will not succeed in erasing the Arab and Islamic identity of al-Quds and al-Aqsa, nor in altering historical and factual realities” pertaining to these significant sites.

The movement highlighted Tel Aviv’s unsuccessful attempts, which reportedly included plans involving temporal and spatial divisions, excavations, contentious incursions, and alleged offenses against worshippers and those present. These actions purportedly involved killing, displacement, detention, and banishment, according to the movement’s statement.

**Concerning the al-Aqsa Storm**

In another part of the statement, Hamas praised its fighters and allied resistance groups in Gaza for their involvement in Operation al-Aqsa Storm, which commenced on October 7, 2023.

In a bold operation, militants infiltrated deep into the occupied Palestinian territories, catching the Israeli military off guard and capturing 240 individuals.

In response to the operation viewed as a retaliatory move against Tel Aviv’s prolonged campaign of occupation and aggression towards Palestinians, the regime launched a forceful military campaign in Gaza, intensifying the conflict and raising severe humanitarian concerns.

Hamas hailed the operation that spanned the entirety of the 15-month conflict, describing it as a symbol of the Palestinian people’s extraordinary resilience and the bravery of their resistance efforts.

The conflict reached its peak with the cessation of hostilities, resulting in the release of imprisoned individuals and female detainees held by Zionist forces, and facilitating the return of displaced families to their homes.

The movement cited the regime’s agreement to a ceasefire deal with Hamas earlier this month, attributing it to the Palestinians’ relentless and effective assaults.

The group concluded its statement with a commitment to persist in its resistance efforts and honor the sacrifices made, with the ultimate goal of fully liberating al-Quds and al-Aqsa, and fulfilling the Palestinians’ right of return to their homeland.
