Iran’s steel export up 55% despite global economic crisis

The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced on Monday that export of Iran’s steel products increased by 55 percent in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2011).

IMIDRO put the value of exported steel products at 305 million US dollars, adding the previous year’s figure was $196 million.

Among the exported steel products, export of bars showed the highest increase.

Value of exported bars by increasing 198 percent reached $53 million during the mentioned period.
