Haneyya calls for strengthening Palestinian-Lebanese ties

Deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has called for protecting the Palestinians and the Lebanese against any form of violence that may occur between them and strengthening the brotherly bonds between them.

Haneyya, who was speaking with the Hamas leadership in Lebanon over the phone, also discussed the developments in Burj al-Barajneh refugee camp and its vicinity following the unfortunate armed clashes that took place last Friday.

Haneyya urged the Hamas leadership in Lebanon to work on solving any dispute that might arise between Palestinian refugees and Lebanese citizens, and to make more efforts to consolidate the relations with the Lebanese people and leadership.

He also warned against the negative impacts of such problems on the Palestinian cause and called for preventing their recurrence.

The Hamas official stressed the importance of having a unified Palestinian position on such incidents and working together with the authorities and the concerned parties in the country to protect the Palestinian presence in Lebanon.
