Hezbollah: 79 national delegations set to attend the funeral of Sayyed Nasrallah

A representative from Lebanon’s Hezbollah confirmed that the organization will hold a funeral service on February 23 to commemorate the passing of Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine.
Sheikh Ali Daher, the coordinator of the High Committee overseeing the funeral arrangements, addressed the media on Tuesday, describing the upcoming ceremony as “a day as significant as the nation itself, designed to promote unity over division.”
A spokesperson has confirmed that the invitations and protocol team has verified the attendance of representatives from 79 countries at the upcoming funeral.
He emphasized that the motto “We shall keep our covenant” embodies a firm commitment to the legacy of Sayyed Nasrallah. He further stated that his funeral would mark a historic turning point, symbolizing the victory of sacrifice over aggression.
Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, is set to present a significant address during the upcoming ceremony, according to official statements.
The President Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium in Beirut is set to host the event, with organizers expecting a significant turnout.
In a significant escalation of regional tensions, Hassan Nasrallah, the longstanding and influential leader of Hezbollah, was killed in a substantial Israeli airstrike in Beirut last September. In a subsequent operation in October, Israel conducted another raid resulting in the death of Hashem Safieddine, a relative and close confidant of Nasrallah, who had been designated as his successor within the organization.
