In a local ceremony in the southern town of Tebnin, Sheikh Qawouq slammed those who back the idea of electing a non-consensual president, describing them as “adventurers who reached an impasse.”
“Consensus is the only, shortest and most guaranteed way to save the country and put an end to the power vacuum in Lebanon.”
In this context, the Hezbollah official underlined importance of speeding up efforts aimed at electing the new president in a bid to stop the collapse and deal with the economic crisis.
“Hezbollah never bets on foreign interference to elect a new president, especially that some foreign powers want for Lebanon to sink more and suffer.”
