Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah has dismissed Israeli media reports that Tel Aviv’s warplanes have targeted its convoy on the Syrian-Lebanese border, Lebanon’s NBN television says.

Israeli media claimed earlier that the regime’s fighter jets had targeted a convoy of weapons headed to Hezbollah fighters in Majdal Anjar at the borders between Syria and Lebanon on Tuesday.

Syrian opposition sources also claimed that the convoy was carrying radars and anti-aircraft missiles.

During the past few years, Hezbollah fighters have been helping the Syrian army in their battle against Takfiri terrorist groups, particularly those operating in the areas near the Lebanese border.

The resistance group says its military role in Syria is aimed at preventing the spillover of the Syria crisis into Lebanon.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimates that over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict, which has furthermore displaced over half of Syria’s pre-war population of about 23 million.

Syria says Israel and its Western and regional allies are aiding Takfiri militant groups operating inside the Arab country.

The Syrian army has repeatedly seized huge quantities of Israeli-made weapons and advanced military equipment from the foreign-backed militants inside Syria.

The Tel Aviv regime has a long history in supporting militant groups against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad over the past five years of turmoil in the Arab country.

Reports say Israel has set up field hospitals near the border with Syria to treat the injured militants coming in from battlefield.
