Syrian Soldiers Inch Closer to Al-Jarrah Airbase in Eastern Aleppo

 

The Syrian army troops continued to hit ISIL’s positions in Eastern Aleppo and drove the terrorists out of another key region near the strategic airbase of al-Jarrah.

Syrian soldiers managed to take back the village of Baylan, 200 meters away from Jarrah airbase.

According to reports, the ISIL terrorists have heavily fortified Jarrah airbase as the government forces are preparing to storm the strategic base.

Reports also said that the ISIL militants have planted mines in lands near the airbase and have prepared a large number of their suicide cars.

After recapturing Jarrah airbase, Damascus forces plan to strike Southwards and liberate the Maskanah Plains, reaching the provincial border with Raqqa.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, the Syrian army continued its military operations in the Eastern part of Aleppo and regained control of two more key towns Northwest of al-Jarrah military airport.

The government troops seized control of the towns of al-Daroubieh and Atshaneh al-Amir Northwest of al-Jarrah military airport after fierce clashes with the terrorists.

A military source confirmed that tens of ISIL terrorists were killed in the army’s military operations as the Syrian army troops continued their advances from the Northern and Western directions.
