The army units destroyed the gathering centers of the terrorists in Dourin and Al-Koum towns in Lattakia countryside, killing hundreds of terrorists and destroying many of their vehicles equipped with machine guns.

The Syrian air force also targeted and destroyed a convoy of militants who were moving from Salmi region to the town of Dourin, and killed all the militants inside the vehicles.

The Syrian army also conducted several operations in Bardavan dam region as well as Jebel Al-Noubeh and Morshili towns in Lattakia countryside, while other army units clashed with large groups of militants in the same regions and prevented dispatch of logistical aids and aiding units from Idlib countryside to the militant groups in Lattakia.

The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.

The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.

Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
