Commenting on the recent events and the criminal attacks on the officers and soldiers of the Lebanese Army in the city of Sidon, on Sunday up until now, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

Since Sunday afternoon, al-Assir’s aggressive militants treacherously continued to attack the Lebanese Army as well as our people in the southern city of Sidon, killing and wounding dozens of soldiers and civilians there.

This heinous crime, which claimed the lives of a number of LA’s officers and soldiers as well as civilians, is an assault on all Lebanese. It further targets their security, livelihoods, present, and future.

It also targeted the LA that resembles the guarantor of civil peace in Lebanon and the maintainer of stability and protection to the Lebanese people, with all its components and groups.

Thus, Hizbullah, in addition to all the Lebanese, expressed pain, grief, and rage for what had struck the army and the people of beloved Sidon.
Moreover, it strongly condemned this heinous crime and affirmed its full solidarity with the Lebanese Army.

In parallel, Hizbullah viewed that the recurrence of such crimes against the LA, the great national institution and the guarantor to Lebanon, is very dangerous as it affects the prestige of the authority and the security of the nation as a whole.

Hizbullah also urged all the Lebanese of different positions, responsibilities, and affiliations to support, embrace, and express solidarity with the Lebanese Army.
Similarly, it called the competent authorities to take all the necessary measures that prevent the repetition of such attacks and bring the criminals to justice.

Meanwhile, Hizbullah offered its condolences for the leadership as well as the officers and the soldiers of the Lebanese Army for the great martyrs who were killed defending Lebanon’s unity and civil peace.

The party also prayed to Al-Mighty God to give their families patience and consolation, and protect Lebanon and its loyal people from any source of evil.
It also wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
