In a significant show of unity, hundreds of thousands convened in London for the 21st National Demonstration Against Genocide in Gaza and Lebanon, urging an immediate cessation of violence and justice for Palestinians. The event, coinciding with the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, spanned from the UK government offices to the US Embassy, delivering a strong appeal to international leaders to urgently address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.

The event, orchestrated by a coalition of advocacy organizations comprising the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), Stop the War Coalition (STW), Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA), and the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), commenced with a symbolic tribute honoring the martyrs of Gaza and Lebanon. Demonstrators displayed flags, carried signs, and vocalized slogans as they marched collectively, advocating for Palestinian rights and an urgent ceasefire.

A wide array of speakers took to the stage, highlighting the broad-based backing for the Palestinian cause. Among the prominent individuals were:

Maysara Ibrahim, a prominent figure from the Palestinian Forum in Britain, delivered a poignant address, highlighting both personal grief and the extensive suffering endured by Palestinians in Gaza. In his speech, Ibrahim expressed an overwhelming sense of despair, stating, “I am at a loss for words as we endure repeated agony and pain, with looming darkness threatening the essence of our values, principles, and humanity.” Despite this, he found inspiration in the gathering before him, affirming the need for persistent efforts towards Palestinian liberation. “We must persevere until Palestine is liberated. We refuse to bow, to surrender, and our struggle will continue until our homeland is free, from the river to the sea,” he declared.

The powerful message delivered during the rally struck a chord with attendees, prompting chants of “Free Palestine” and “Stop Arming Israel.” Ibrahim’s remarks underscored the heartache and steadfast determination of the Palestinian people, many of whom have experienced personal losses.

Representatives from diverse solidarity movements delivered calls for justice, peace, and the upholding of human dignity during a recent gathering. Emilie Stevenson, on behalf of Na’amod—a Jewish organization advocating against community-backed occupation—stressed the significance of Jewish solidarity with the Palestinian people. Meanwhile, Marion Roberts spoke for the Jewish bloc that has long stood behind national demonstrations opposing occupation.

British Palestinian actor Sarah Agha and Hamza Stitam, also of British Palestinian descent with roots in Gaza, have shared poignant narratives highlighting both loss and resilience. The White Kite Collective, with representatives Motaz Malhees and Taghrid Choucair Vizoso, discussed their grassroots initiatives aimed at bringing awareness and amplifying Palestinian voices amid enduring conflict.

Ben Jamal, Director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, concluded his address by expressing deep appreciation for the strong backing received and urged the UK government to implement tangible measures. “Our efforts will persist until justice is achieved,” he asserted. “The global community is watching closely, and history will vividly recall those who championed human rights and those who chose to remain indifferent.”

In a significant demonstration, a historic march highlighted the increasing support for the Palestinian cause, calling for an end to what organizers describe as ongoing genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. Participants pledged to sustain their advocacy until peace and justice are achieved for the Palestinian community.
