Security Forces Thwart Terror Attack on Police Station in Southeastern Iran, 4 Terrosists Killed

Iranian security agents managed to foil a terror attack on a Police station in Zahedan, the capital of the Southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, on Saturday, killing all assailants.

Four terrorists tried to make their way into the police station in Zahedan on Saturday morning local time, but their attempt was abortive as security troops responded quickly.

Local officials stated that the gunmen threw handmade grenades, triggering heavy clashes with the Iranian officers. But, the Police forces inside the station and the security agents outside the base surrounded the assailants amid the heavy exchange of fire.

All the four militants were killed in the clashes as the police operation came to a close successfully. Two Iranian police officers have been martyred during the raid, the provincial prosecutor confirmed.

Sistan and Baluchestan province, which borders Pakistan, has witnessed several terror attacks targeting both civilians and security forces over the past years.

Back in early October, terrorists launched attacks on several police stations and public places in Zahedan after congregational prayers in the city, killing doznes of people, including security forces and people, and injuring several others.

Iranian authorities say some of the elements behind the violence had been identified and captured, adding they resolve to take revenge for the martyrdom of IRGC and Basij members as well as civilians.
