Syrian Army Gives Crushing Response to Terrorists’ Attack on Damascus Airport

The Syrian army bombed the terrorists’ positions in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus after they violated the truce and attacked the international Damascus airport.

Field sources reported on Thursday that the terrorists in Eastern Ghouta have launched missile attacks against the Damascus airport and the residential areas of Dhahiyeh al-Assad in Harasta.

The Syrian army gave a crushing response to the attacks, the sources said, adding that the terrorists’ positions in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus were heavily pounded with artillery and missile fire, destroying several of their positions and killing and wounding a number of militants.

Meantime, the artillery and missile units of the Syrian army targeted the terrorists’ positions and moves in Harasta and the town of Arabayn, inflicting damages on the militants.

Reports said last week that the terrorist groups still defy to abide by the ceasefire with the Syrian army in Eastern Ghouta in Damascus countryside despite declaration of truce in the region.

The terrorists’ operations room in Harasta in Eastern Damascus, meantime, announced that it will not remain committed to ceasefire in Eastern Ghouta by any means and will continue its military operations in the surrounding areas of the Vehicle Management center.

This is while a spokesperson of Ahrar al-Sham terrorist group Manzar Fares said no party has held talks with Ahrar al-Sham about ceasefire in Eastern Gouta, stressing that the terrorist groups does not believe in the ceasefire agreement.

Meantime, the terrorist groups stationed in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus attacked the plane carrying the Syrian delegation upon its return from the Russian city of Sochi where they took part in the Congress of the Syrian National Dialogue.

The Arabic-language al-Hadath news reported on Wednesday that the terrorists launched several missiles at the Damascus international airport as soon as the plane carrying participants in Sochi conference landed in the Syrian capital.

The report said one of the missiles hit near the runway and only 50 meters away from one of the planes which had landed 10 minutes earlier.

No casualties were reported in the missile attack.
