Gov’t Forces Impose Control over 300 Regions in Northern Syria

The Syrian Army troops liberated 300 villages, towns and regions in its large-scale operation in the provinces of Hama, Idlib and Aleppo, restoring security to the vial highway connecting Hama to Aleppo, the country’s military reported on Monday.

The Syrian Army General Command announced that the army soldiers freed 300 villages, towns and regions in Southern Aleppo, Southeastern Idlib and Northeastern Hama within the framework of the operation to liberate Abu al-Dhohour airbase that is the second largest in Northern Syria after Taftnaz military airport.

The army further said that terrorists are trapped in a large region among Khanasser, Abu al-Dhohour, al-Sa’an and al-Hamrah, adding that the army men’s advances in the region restored security to the second main road connecting Hama to Khanasser and Aleppo.

Military sources confirmed on Saturday that the army men drove the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) back from the key Abu al-Dhohour airbase after over two years of occupation, army sources confirmed.

The sources added that the army men were fortifying their positions at the airbase.

The Al-Nusra suffered a heavy death toll in the clashes, the sources said, adding that the army forwarded more troops and equipment to the military airport and its engineering units started defusing bombs and landmines planted by the terrorists in the newly-captured military airport.

The Syrian Air Force was conducting massive bombing raids on the terrorists in the Northern and Southwestern directions of the airbase.

In the meantime, other units of the army advanced towards the villages near the airbase to reinvigorate security to the airport.
