Yemen shoots down Saudi drone in Jizan

Yemeni forces targeted an unmanned aerial vehicle, belonging to the Saudi-led military coalition in the region of Jizan, south of the country.

According to al-Masirah television network, a military official said that Army forces and popular committees targeted Saudi military positions in several villages and captured amounts of ammunitions and weapons, in addition to intercepting a drone.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the military campaign.
