Top Iranian Commander: Unprecedented Number of Troops Present in Mohammad Rasoulallah Drills

Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmadreza Pourdastan underlined that the Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) ongoing military exercises in the Southern and Southeastern parts of the country are unique in the post-revolution era, given the large number of the units and troops participating in the drills.

“The Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) wargames are unprecedented in terms of the number of troops and the presence of Army forces and the forces of the Army’s Joint Chief of Staff Headquarters,” General Pourdastan told reporters on the sidelines of the second day of the maneuvers underway in Southern and Southeastern Iran.

He noted that the military drills show the Iranian Army’s high capabilities to protect the country’s borders.

“The advanced tactics and modern equipment are properly tested in the wargames by efficient forces and the military officials of Khatam ol-Anbia Headquarters and the Armed Forces Joint Chief of Staff Headquarters are monitoring the drills very closely,” the Iranian Ground Force commander said.

“This military exercises have this message for the enemies that we are ready (to confront threats), while for our friends it has a message of peace, friendship and security,” he added.

Different units of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force, Navy, Air Force and Air Defense started six days of massive joint military drills along the country’s Southern and Southeastern coasts on Thursday.

The military exercises codenamed Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) cover an area of 2.2 million square kilometers from the East of the Strait of Hormuz to the Southern parts of the Gulf of Aden.
