International Criminal Court was called to detain zionist Israeli rabbi for war crimes in Gaza
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a pro-Palestine advocacy organization, has lodged a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC). The complaint calls for the "immediate arrest" of an Israeli rabbi who has allegedly boasted about committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the blockaded region of the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday, the Hindrajab Foundation, acting as the legal branch of the March 30 Movement, announced the submission of a formal complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC). The complaint targets Avraham Zarbiv, an Israeli rabbi and member of the Givati Brigade, who allegedly admitted to committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip, an area under blockade.
In an interview with Israel’s Channel 14 on Wednesday, former Israeli Forces reservist Zarbiv, who has completed over 470 days of service, candidly asserted that their strategy in Gaza was to thoroughly eliminate any opposition encountered in their surroundings.
Zarbiv expressed with apparent pride that tens of thousands of families are returning to a place devoid of any identity documents or personal mementos, such as childhood photos and IDs. His remarks, highlighting the extent of devastation inflicted upon the conflict-stricken Palestinian enclave, were met with applause from his audience.
The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) highlighted the thoroughly documented crimes of the Israeli rabbi, citing his public admissions and corroborating video evidence as sources.
The rights group has accused Zarbiv of openly confessing to the systematic demolition of approximately 50 buildings each week in Gaza. These operations allegedly targeted private residences, schools, hospitals, and aid facilities. Furthermore, Zarbiv is reportedly involved in the widespread destruction of neighborhoods, including Jabalia and Rafah, among others. The rights group also highlighted his public incitement to violence and hatred, specifically supporting actions that result in the loss of Palestinian civilian lives and the destruction of their communities.
In a recent interview, Zarbiv openly admitted to operating a D9 bulldozer in the intentional demolition of homes and the destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure. He confirmed that the Givati Brigade systematically targeted civilian areas. Video footage dated February 7, 2024, reportedly shows Zarbiv throwing grenades and firing at unarmed Palestinian civilians in Khan Yunis. These actions constitute clear breaches of international humanitarian law, according to statements from the Human Rights Foundation (HRF).
The advocacy group reported that Rabbi Avraham Zarbiv is accused of committing serious violations under the Geneva Conventions of 1949, as well as breaches of the Rome Statute. These allegations include engaging in war crimes by targeting civilians, causing widespread destruction of property without military justification, and deliberately attacking civilian infrastructure.
In a statement directed at the International Criminal Court, a pro-Palestinian organization has emphasized the urgent need for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Zarbiv. The group underscored that failing to hold him accountable would perpetuate a cycle of impunity often shielding perpetrators of similar offenses.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Palestinian financial expert and human rights advocate Ramy Abdu condemned the actions of Zarbiv in Gaza, describing them as “horrifying and appalling.”
In a controversial statement, an Israeli officer and bulldozer operator reportedly boasted to an applauding audience about the demolition of 50 to 60 residential structures each week in Gaza. He allegedly declared that he had entirely razed the areas of Rafah and Jabalia, comparing the act of demolishing homes to ‘playing music,’ according to remarks made by Abdu.
Israel’s military operations within the embattled region, commencing on October 7, 2023, have resulted in the deaths of over 47,000 Palestinians and left nearly 112,000 individuals injured.
The toll of the recent conflict continues to rise as families return to the devastated remnants of their homes in the wake of the ceasefire. Many are in search of the remains of their loved ones who perished. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, approximately 10,000 individuals remain unaccounted for under the debris.
