Int’l status of Quds Day improved – Larijani

Speaker of the IRI Parliament Ali Larijani thanked the Muslim people of Iran and overseas for their diligent participation in the International Quds Day rallies, adding that the zeal of Muslim marchers would, God willing, lead to liberation of Palestine.

Larijani was speaking to an open session of the parliament.

He said the presence in the rallies of the populations of those countries which have been freed from their dictators promoted the international posture of the Quds day and showed that the cry of Muslims in defense of Palestine has turned into a global issue.

The marches showed that though the cry of Muslim nations in defense of the innocent Palestine was not heard before due to colonial policies, it has now turned into a popular movement which has caused the US and the Zionist regime to adopt hurried measures.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic and The Leader Of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Sayyed Rouhollah Khomeini, in August 1979 declared the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan as Quds Day, calling for international rallies in support of Palestinians and against Zionist Occupation Israel.
