“Iran, a model of development for Ivory Coast”: Ivory Coast Ambassador to Iran

Ivory Coast Ambassador to Iran Abdullah Cissé’s said here on Tuesday that Iran serves as model of development given its principles and freedom seeking attitude.

In a meeting with the province’s deputy governor general, he added, “We are in dire need of other countries such as Iran to attain development and remove poverty.”

Ivory Coast also believes that Iran forges ties with other countries based on mutual respect and human principles, he noted.

Stating that his country has no intention to use western model for its development, the envoy added that the Europeans still buy the country’s agricultural product such as coffee at a low price.

Cissé’s further noted that his country is interested in developing political and economic ties with Iran.

“We are not the enemy of any country in the world and are in need of forging cooperation with all countries in order to get rid of current economic crisis,” he said.

Referring to ten-year activity of his country’s embassy in Tehran, he also complained about the low level of economic exchanges.

East Azarbaijan’s deputy governor general, Farrokh Masjedifar, for his part, said that the province is interested in forging friendly ties with all countries across the world.

Ivory Coast is a country in West Africa with a population of 19 million.
