Iran-Afghanistan media cooperation growing

Iran-Afghanistan media cooperation is growing, said Iran’s press attaché in Afghanistan.

Talking to IRNA on Saturday, Mohammad Dehqani added that the media have not played their role properly, given the significance of the two countries’ ties in political, economic and educational fields.

Although bilateral ties have expanded in recent years and the volume of commercial exchanges has increased, such positive developments were not revealed to the nations of the two countries, he said.

The official also said that media can help remove certain obstacles impeding expansion of commercial exchanges and presence of Iranian investors in the neighboring state.

The two Persian-speaking countries with numerous commonalities have not been introduced to each other properly, he said.

Dehqani called on the media to deal with the positive aspects of Afghan issues so as to pave the way for the presence of Iranian investors in the country.

Iran hosted millions of Afghans during the past years but the Iranians have little knowledge about Afghanistan.
