Iran Armed Forces laud Feb. 11 march turnout

Iran’s Armed Forces Headquarters has described the Iranian nation’s high turnout in the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution as an “epic” event.

In a statement, Iran’s Armed Forces Headquarters thanked the Iranian nation for their “epic turnout” in rallies, marking the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution.

“Undoubtedly, the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which forms a solid barrier against the enemy, emanates from the people of this divine land,” the statement read.

Millions of people, some carrying Iranian flags, pictures of the Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and banners in support of the revolution, took to the streets on Thursday to celebrate overthrowing the US-backed Pahlavi monarchy.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also addressed a huge crowd in Tehran’s Azadi square, denouncing world powers that oppose the Iranian government.

Imam Ali Khamenei also praised the high turnout of the Iranians in the rallies.

“The friends and enemies of the Iranian nation should know that this nation has found its way and made the decision to reach the peak of development and welfare, and will overcome any obstacle in its path,” the Leader said.
