Iran arrests admin of counterrevolutionary hypocrite Amad News website

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says its intelligence organization has arrested the administrator of the counterrevolutionary website, Amad News, which was known for disseminating incriminating content against the Islamic establishment, insulting sanctities of Iranian Muslims and publishing fake news in order to drive a wedge between the Iranian people and government.

The IRGC broke the news in a statement published on Monday, saying Rouhollah Zam was nabbed through a meticulous intelligence operation by the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization, which involved deceiving intelligence services of some Western countries especially France, under whose guidance and protection Zam was operating.

“In this professional, smart and multifaceted operation, the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization employed modern intelligence methods and innovative stratagems to deceive foreign [intelligence] services and direct Rouhollah Zam, the administrator of counterrevolutionary Amad News website, into the country and then arrest him,” the statement said.

It emphasized that Zam had been running extensive psychological operations in recent years through direct logistical support of foreign intelligence services and counterrevolutionary expatriates along with their domestic henchmen to create division among various institutions of the Islamic establishment, promote Iranophobia, disseminate fake news, foment doubt among the young generation about religious beliefs, prepare the ground for acts of violence and terror, and provoke unrest inside the country.

“Despite being under the guidance of the French intelligence service, enjoying the protection of intelligence services of the US and the Zionist regime (Israel) and having links with other intelligence agencies, and in spite of the fact that he was protected round the clock through different overt and covert methods, he fell into the trap laid by children of the Iranian nation in the IRGC Intelligence Organization,” the statement said.

Following the IRGC’s announcement, Iran’s parliament members issued a statement thanking Iran’s intelligence services for the accomplishment.
