Seven Palestinians were injured, including one who lost his eye, after Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on the Kafr Qaddum weekly march that was organized in protest against the continued closure of the town’s gate for 13 years.

Rifaat Barham, 23, lost his right eye after being shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet, while the teenager Daoud Agel, 17, was hit with live fire in his foot.

Barham was taken to Rafediya hospital in very serious condition.

IOF soldiers opened heavy fired, both live and rubber-coated steel bullets, towards the participants’ upper parts, the local activist Murad Ishteiwi said.

Among the others hit with rubber-coated bullets were Naser Ishteiwi, 44, who was hit in his foot, Anas Amer, 21, in his back, Muhammad Nidal, 20, in his shoulder, and Muhammad Fathi, 45, in his hand.

Violent clashes broke out once the IOF broke into the town and brutally attacked the weekly march. The protesters responded by throwing empty bottles and stones at the invading forces.

Separately, a Palestinian farmer was subjected to a brutal attack Friday afternoon at hands of Israeli forces who prevented him from having access to his agricultural land in Burin town to the south of Nablus.

The farmer Bashir Qadus, 42, was transferred to hospital as he suffered serious injuries and bruises, eyewitnesses reported.

Two other local farmers were detained during the attack.
