South Lebanon Elections Witness Strong Voter Turnout, Reaffirm Commitment to Resistance Path

In the South Lebanon and Nabatieh governorates, a significant demonstration of electoral support has been observed, with candidates winning by acclamation in 109 out of 271 towns and villages. Meanwhile, in areas where candidates are actively contesting the municipal and mayoral elections, voter participation has been notably high, with citizens turning out in large numbers to cast their ballots at polling stations.

The Ministry of Interior and Municipalities has issued new statistics on voter turnout in southern Lebanon. The updated figures are as follows:

In the latest electoral results across various regions, Jezzine experienced a voter turnout of 41.37%, while Hasbaya recorded 35.38%. Marjeyoun and Bint Jbeil saw participation levels of 30.40% and 26.50%, respectively. In Nabatieh, the turnout reached 32.20%. Tyre reported a 36% voter turnout, and Sidon closely followed with 41%.

Joseph Aoun reviewed the electoral proceedings in South Lebanon, paying tribute to the martyrs on the 25th anniversary of Liberation. He urged voters to elect candidates who will aid in the town’s reconstruction efforts.

Aoun cast his vote at a polling station located in his hometown of Aisheyye.

Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar paid a visit to Bint Jbei, emphasizing the determination of the Lebanese southerners in reclaiming their land. He expressed confidence that, in collaboration with the state, they can successfully rebuild the south.

Minister Hajjar, speaking from Bint Jbeil, affirmed that the Lebanese government is exerting maximum efforts to ensure the withdrawal of Israeli forces and halt ongoing Israeli assaults. He further expressed optimism about Lebanon’s path towards prosperity.

Dr. Hasan Fadlallah, a member of the Loyalty to Resistance bloc, highlighted the significant voter turnout as a testament to the southerners’ dedication to the path of resistance. He emphasized the necessity for the Lebanese government to undertake the reconstruction of the areas ravaged by the Zionist conflict.

Sayyed Fadlallah highlighted that 400,000 families have received financial compensation from Hezbollah. He further stated that any delay or hesitation by the government in executing the reconstruction project will not be accepted.

Dr. Ali Fayyad, a representative of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, emphasized that the residents of southern Lebanon continue to demonstrate their unwavering support for the Resistance and the national alliance as their chosen political path.
