Majlis fully supporting Iranian nuclear negotiators’

A senior lawmaker says Iranian nuclear negotiators have the full support of the Supreme Leader, the parliament and the people in talks with the major powers.

Throughout the talks, the Iranian negotiating team “enjoys the full support of the Supreme Leader, the Iranian nation, various political groups, and the Majlis so that they can defend our national interests in using nuclear energy,” Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard, the deputy speaker of the Majlis, told a gathering in Tehran on Saturday.

“The strong position of the Iranian negotiating team along with their knowledge and expertise at the talks (can) pave the way for the Iranian nation achieve their legitimate interests,” he added.

The remarks by the lawmaker came as Iran and the world powers (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, known as the 5+1 group) held intensive negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday through Saturday, which were aimed at resolving the decade-old dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.
