President Rouhani: Iran nuclear talks have ruffled Israel’s feathers

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says nuclear talks between Iran and the six world powers have ruffled the feathers of one aggressive and occupying regime, whose existence hinges on belligerence.

Speaking at a Cabinet session in Tehran on Wednesday, Rouhani stated that the Tel Aviv regime is constantly worried about the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East, and Israeli authorities support the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front terrorist network regardless of all crimes the group is committing.

Those seeking a better future for the region and the world, should realize that there is no path to regional development and progress other than establishment of stability and security, President Rouhani said, adding that there is no solution to the nuclear issue except for dialogue.

The Iranian president further stated that world nations, including Americans, are vigilant enough to understand that a regime whose job is war-mongering could never give them any piece of advice.

Rouhani was referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s anti-Iran speech at the US Congress on Tuesday, where he called on Washington not to negotiate “a very bad deal” with Tehran.

“The regime, which has been after atomic weapons, has already produced nuclear bombs and stockpiled a large number of the bombs in defiance of international law and unseen by international observers as it does not allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to oversee its nuclear facilities by refraining from signing the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT),” Rouhani said.

The Iranian president also touched on nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – Britain, France, China, Russia, and the United States plus Germany – stating that Tehran is open to more transparency during the course of the talks, but does not agree to a deal that divests the Iranian nation of its inalienable rights.

“The world is happy with the progress being made during Iran and the P5+1 negotiations as the outcome of this breakthrough and accord will be beneficial to the region, world, development, trade, economy and culture as well as the resolution of issues and threats that have given rise to extremism in the region and the world,” Rouhani highlighted.

The latest round of the nuclear talks ended in Montreux, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

The three-day negotiations were headed by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Representatives of Iran and the United States had held three rounds of intense negotiations in the Swiss city of Geneva on February 22-23 to bridge their differences ahead of a July 1 deadline for Iran and the P5+1 to reach a comprehensive nuclear deal.
