Iran has denied Israeli accusations that it was involved in the terrorist attack on a bus in Burgas, Bulgaria in July 2012, which killed five Israeli tourists, their Bulgarian driver, and the bomber.
“This (the attack) has nothing to do with Iran,” Iranian Ambassador to Bulgaria Gholamreza Baqeri told reporters at a press conference in Sofia on Friday, Reuters reported.

“We are against any form of terrorism and strongly condemn such actions,” he said.

According to Ynetnews, on Tuesday Bulgaria accused the Iranian-backed Hezbollah of carrying out the attack, a charge Hezbollah has dismissed as part of a smear campaign by its arch foe Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on the same day, “The findings are an additional confirmation to what we already know. Hezbollah and its patron, Iran, are running a global terror campaign across borders and continents.”

However, Europol chief Rob Wainwright said that the agency, which has sent experts to assist in the investigation, did not find any direct link to Iran or al-Qaeda-inspired terrorist groups, Ynetnews reported on Sunday.
